EPTDA to host its 2015 Annual Convention in Barcelona in September

It is the second time that EPTDA hosts its Annual Convention in Barcelona, one of the most loved, vibrant, fashionable, artistic and quirky cities in the world. EPTDA member spouses and partners are in for a superb Spanish treat in the Mediterranean surroundings of architectural treasures dating back more than 2000 years and in company of maestros like Gaudí, Dalí and Miró.

“New features of the convention programme are the splitting of the MD-IDEX meeting sessions over 2 days and the introduction of the D2D meeting sessions. These D2D sessions are informal B2B meeting sessions for Distributors. The association has already provided venues for Distributors to meet Manufacturers under its successful MD-IDEX (Manufacturer Distributor Idea Exchange forum), but the new realities of our business demand that we create even more opportunities for our distributors to share best practices with other distribution companies, now in place with the D2D,” said Hans Hanegreefs, EPTDA’s Executive Vice President. EPTDA Barcelona 2015 will also host the first EPTDA NexGen Seminar and NexGen Open Forum Session, in line with the first NexGen program, which will be launched during the next EPTDA All Committees days event in Berlin. “EPTDA created this initiative program in order to continue its commitment to the development of the Next Generation managers into top future leaders of the PT/MC industry”, added Hans Hanegreefs.

The Annual Convention will take place at the Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona, facing the Mediterranean Sea and located in the newest, most modern part of the city. It is next to one of the largest parks in the city and the beach. Diagonal Mar Shopping Centre and the CCIB (International Barcelona convention centre) are walking distance from the hotel.

EPTDA brings on the 2015 stage yet another impressive line-up of guest speakers and thought-leaders. George Parker, an internationally successful corporate speaker, author, storyteller, comedian and stand-up illusionist, will talk about ‘the smartphone business model’. He believes that while a company can standardise their products and services, there is still the need to create a unique, personal experience for every single client.

Thimon de Jong, an internationally renowned keynote presenter and workshop facilitator from Amsterdam, will focus on managing the Millennial generation employees (18-30 years old).

Alan Beaulieu, EPTDA’s economic forecaster and principal of ITR Economics, who proudly maintains his 96% accuracy record, will share key insights on the economic trends and global opportunities for 2016 within the PT/MC industry and other industries and/or markets influencing the future growth strategies.

The EPTDA Barcelona 2015 registrations will open in April 2015 to all professionals from the mechanical power transmission and motion control (PT/MC) sector.
