Existing bearing plants of the CIS

Bearing factories CIS

In the early 90’s after the collapse of the Soviet Union to its former territory there were 34 bearing plant (state bearing plants, GPZ), a considerable part of them settled in the territory of modern Russia and Ukraine. However, due to lower orders in the 90’s, and the invasion of cheap bearings from China in the 2000s, most of the bearing companies ceased to exist.

Bearing factories CIS

Currently, the CIS bearing enterprises with production lines involved in production, but not assemble from ready-made Chinese parts are less than 30. Most of them – are the heirs of the former company GPZ, based on the same industrial sites. However, some of them are newly created, for example, the Swedish company SKF plant in Tver focused on high-precision production of railway axle bearings. Unfortunately, there are companies, which remained only on paper – they are bankrupt and are in the process of liquidation.
